Convert WebP to PNG. Keep transparency.
Make PNG copies of still WebP images for editors and uploads that require PNG. Decoded transparent pixels stay transparent, and your images are processed on your device.

When should you convert WebP to PNG?
PNG can make still WebP files easier to edit or upload, but changing the format does not repair image quality.
You need a transparent PNG
Transparency already present in the WebP image carries into the PNG. This does not automatically remove an opaque background.
An editor accepts only PNG
Choose PNG for compatibility with design tools or upload forms. The lossless output can be considerably larger than WebP.
You want a stable editing copy
PNG preserves the decoded pixels without another lossy encoding step. Detail lost in the original WebP cannot be restored.
Before you convert: Animated WebP files are not supported. Keep the source file if you need motion or future re-exports.
A few useful answers.
Does this preserve transparency?
Yes. Transparent pixels decoded from the still WebP image are preserved in the PNG output. No background is added.
Does lossless output mean the original was lossless?
No. PNG preserves the decoded pixels. If the source WebP was lossy, detail already removed cannot be recovered.
Why might the output be much larger?
WebP can compress photos very efficiently. PNG uses a different, lossless method, so an equally sized image may require significantly more bytes.
